I love this product. My only complaint is that the computer seems to get a little hotter and battery life a little shorter. To be fair, I'd heard this might happen, and I haven't measured it or anything, so I might be imagining things. Otherwise very satisfied.
Customer Review: Best choice for a MacBook / MacBook Pro upgrade
I installed this in my C2D 2.16Ghz MacBook Pro yesterday and couldn't be happier. The size has freed me from continual file cleaning and the speed increase is noticeable. There is a slight bit more noise from the drive, but is sounds like a white noise generator, a gentle hiss/hum, nothing to worry about and I am picky. There is no clacking or anything truly noticeable, definitely no heat issues. As far as some of the comments people have posted regarding noise I would recommend anyone who has noise problems after the install check the rubber grommet mounts. If you don't get them back in place properly the mounts can't do their job and the noise will resonate thru the sounding box that is the MacBook Pro. As far as heat issues I would guess the user didn't check the cooling fans. I pulled my fans while I had it open and found each heatsink 1/3 covered in a cake of dust. I cleaned them and now the whole thing runs cooler. NOTE: Do not get the WD3200BJKT for a MacBook or MacBook Pro. Apple includes a sudden motion sensor in the laptop and if you get the WD3200BJKT the sudden motion sensor in the drive will conflict with the unit in the laptop and neither will work.

Customer Review: Quite nice, if you go in with your eyes open
At first I wasn't sure about the book, as it is a thinly veiled advertisement for Information Unlimited, and has many items you can only get from them to build the projects. But then I figured that is fine, because they *do* carry specialized parts for just this sort of project, and have for decades; this book just shows you what to do with those parts. I've been a customer of InfoUnlimited for a long time anyway, and they do put out very cool stuff. So, if you are willing to do fabrication, electronic assembly/soldering, and troubleshooting, then this is an excellent book. Yes, you probably need at least average intelligence to fathom this book, but then, would you really want a stupid person to have a cutting laser? If you do have dreams of a secret lair where you can bring a doomsday machine to the world, then you will enjoy this book immensely, especially if you are actually handy. Even if you aren't, you can always put this on your bookshelf, and just make people wonder. If you like books like this, then my suggestion is to look for titles that have "gadgets" in them to get actual plans for things. As for what is in it...it is a mixed bag, and pretty wide in interests. There are certainly lasers, but also several projects for ultrasonics (simple up to weapon-like), and also several projects on reasonably potent power supplies; something that many books leave out. In addition, you have EMP generators, and fun tesla projects. I'll note it again: If you try these projects and do not know what you are doing, or do something stupid while building these, you will die. Likely in a bug-zapper like fashion, or perhaps with a nicely cauterized hole burned through something important. That aside, this is a nice collection of material you can find elsewhere, but it is all in one location, and with the actual part numbers for some of the more hard-to-find components, you won't have to guess or use somethign that "might" work, and risk the project (or you) burning up.

Customer Review: Poor excuse for a sausage stuffer
KitchenAid typically makes great attachments. I love the food grinder but this add-on is virtually worthless. It relies on the auger to pull the ground, seasoned meat from the small, shallow upper holding tray out into casings. There is way too much resistance in the meat path for this design to be effective. You can press firmly and get the meat to move a little. I think I would actually be more successful pushing the meat past the auger than relying on it to move anything itself. I might try it again with the auger removed and the motor of my KitchenAid off and see how I do! It works just OK when you are working with freshly seasoned, coarsley ground sausage and are using the larger bore stuffing tube. That is its only, marginal application. It is completely useless if you want to make finely ground sausage, emulsified sausage (like hot dogs), or if you make salami where the meat turns much stickier. Oh, and the small bore tube should just be thrown away on arrival. The auger simply cannot and does not pull many types of sausage through this attachment. Or if it does it is very inefficient. I have the old style wooden plunger and the meat still comes right up the sides of the feed tube as you apply pressure. Then, when you pull out the plunger, meat comes up with it and then when you press down again huge air bubbles surge into your casings. You end up with a mess, a tension headache, and casings stuffed with air. It is a bad design that is really only offered to make the grinder attachment marketable as a sausage making system. It is...kinda, I guess. If you are serious about making anything other than sausage patties then skip this and buy a vertical sausage stuffer which uses a piston to press the prepared sausage out into casings. Sausage making should be fun and it simply isn't with this.

It's just a tube, but it seemed to work pretty good. Used my left hand to push the meat into the stuffer and the right hand to guide the sausage. Didn't have any problems stuffing. Hint: bought collagen casings from Bass Pro store. It was a little bit difficult to twist (it kept coming undone). Collagen is supposed to be much easier to deal with than natural and not too much of a taste compromise.

I drove to a travel store to check this multi-function clock out and came away very disappointed. The instructions are difficult to read and do not provide sufficient explanation as to how to perform certain functions (e.g., currency conversion). There were no instructions as to how to change the batteries, let alone any description of the battery type. I called the 800 number listed on the box and learned that you need to remove two screws to access the batteries. I asked whether there were more detailed instructions on Eagle Creek's web site as to how to operate the device. I was told there were none. A final issue is that the icons on the buttons on the keyboard are difficult to read, even with reading glasses. I ended up not buying it.

I bought The Fad Gadget box set on a whim, I had never heard of Frank Tovey or his alter ego, Fad Gadget. What I got was an amazing array of early techno(ala' Gary Numan etc). Lots of demos and the performance DVDs are worth the price alone. Tovey did some crazy stuff, covering himself with feathers and insanely work the stage like a caged animal. Enjoy!!!
Customer Review: Great tribute to an underated performer
At first glance, this collection doesn't make sense - even to a fan of Frank Tovey. Unreleased tracks, unearthed demos and a slew of vintage clips for a performer who never saw the success of many of his peers. Director Alex Proyas (The Crow) has a few words. There are interviews with members of Depeche Mode and Anton Corbijn, included in a lovely hour long documentary. A set of this love and magnitude for the cult singer just doesn't make sense. Then you open up the sleeve notes and a vintage photo of Frank wearing a t shirt that advertised the newly formed Mute Records and it all comes together. This set celebrates not only Frank's ability as an artist, but his contributions to popular music. As stated in the documentary, Depeche Mode was opening for Fad Gadget in Mute's beginings. When we see Frank's on stage antics (tar and feathers, shaving himself in unsuspecting places), we realize that Frank was more than another musician - but his music is not to be understated here. The set is the first representation of Frank's full career, even his post Fad days, where he was something of a folk singer. Also included is a new track, Sleeper, recorded in 96 and seems to be influenced by the trip hop era somewhat. People catching Frank for the first time will be amazed at seeing a very complete, chronological set of tunes as well as concert performances. The synth driven material is the best on here, but his work with the Pyros was great too, and the best material is chosen for this package. Synth pop fans wanting to catch something of a darker, more energetic version of something along the lines of DM should love checking Frank's material out, while fans will be salivating over the wealth of rarities here. It's also worth noting that this is one of the best assembled retrospective packages I've seen and clearly a lot of digging was done to find some of the best available material out there. The DVDs are especially noteworthy with complete concerts from two different decades, a slew of rare performances and complete promos as well. A top notch collection coming from any artist.

Customer Review: Program is very disappointing
OK, I am used to hiking with Green Trail maps for Washington State. I was hoping that this product would be to their level, or heck even more current. But no way, I pulled up areas I go to frequently and the maps are not even close to he quality of the green trail maps. Which is very sad considering google earth does a better job than this software and it is free. For all you techies who rated this product highly get grip, paper maps dominate this product. GPS software is not even close to the quality of a paper map. Also, if I wanted to do all of this electronic file manipualtion that other users speak of why even buy a GPS unit. The point is I wanted something superior to old out of date paper maps and instead of that got "new" electronic maps that are worthless.

I am new to the GPS hobby, as a walker/hiker/biker, and wanted to upgrade both my GPS inventory of tools, and my skill using them. I have the Garmin GPSMAP 60, and needed some mapping software to use with it. The TOPO is as it is advertised: a US Continental map, loaded with information, color, symbols, menus, and mapping tools. It is overwhelming at times, but still very interesting to use. I find the lack of drop down menus, to assist the ham-handed rookies among us, to be needed. I often find myself asking,"Why does it do that?". It is possible to switch back and forth between your GPS and the laptop, which makes the whole operation seem surrealistic. It is truly like living in the future. I am still jazzed by this purchase, and often just look at the maps because they are cool to look at. You can have a lot less fun and spend a whole lot more money. This is a good deal, and you may even learn something about maps.

Customer Review: Beware Shipping Charges!
I think the product is pretty good for the price that you pay for. Even, the $3.00 shipping charges are very reasonable. But, a product such as as screen protector is a consumable and a new one is expected to last for about a month or so. If you think what the heck it only costs a cent for a pack of three so why not order few packs in the same order then you're in for a big surprise. For example, if you place an order of 5 units of the screen protector the shipping charges run close to $15.00. Then, the product price is not really as low as it seems!

The screen protector is good quality and goes on fairly easily (the 2 tab system is great), but it does NOT fit the iPhone 3GS. If you line up the circle the earpiece is off and vice versa. Plus no matter how you line it up it isn't big enough to cover the whole screen. There's a gap around the edge of the whole thing. Poorly designed in my opinion, but I guess that's what you expect for $0.02

The ClearOne Chat 50 is a unique product. It is a full-duplex USB speakerphone that can be used with your computer for Voice over Internet Protocol (i.e., Skype, Vonage), for audio or audio/video conferencing, online chat with instant messenger programs or online gaming. It is full-duplex: both parties can be speaking at the same time. Half-duplex is far more common, where only one person at a time can speak. Installation is simple, although be sure to check for driver and firmware updates. The firmware update crashed my Windows XP system, though without serious damage. As a microphone, the audio quality is top-notch. As a conference mike, it is very sensitive. I was able to comfortably listen to a recording made while I was about eight feet away and speaking in a normal voice. In that same normal voice, I was also audible out to about fifteen feet. Echo cancellation is excellent. As a speaker, the Chat 50 is suprisingly capable. Sound is crisp, somewhat flat, but perfectly usable for voice, movies and streaming music. Accessory cables allow you to use the Chat 50 with cell phones, some jack equipped phone systems, MP3 players and videoconferencing equipment. All in all, a very capable full-duplex speakerphone. The one drawback is that it has no battery power capability. It must be used with USB power or a somewhat bulky, but not huge, AC power adapter. Overall, a pricey but very worthwhile full-duplex speakerphone for anyone who uses VoIP a lot, webcams or voice chats. Jerry

Does this filter work in the Hamilton-Beech Stay or Go Coffee Make? I just recently purchased this coffee maker and the gold tone filter that I purchased has a solid bottom which results in the grounds splashing back into the water stream and the brewing portion of the machine and makes a large mess. I have switched back to paper until I can find one that allows the coffee to filter through the bottom. Hope this one will work...please let me know.

It did exactly what I wanted (I needed to size a UPS for an unusually large home office computer system). It let me watch the start-up draw, then follow the load as the additional CPU's kicked in (and came out of idle) as more and more applications loaded. Would rate 5 stars if it didn't have so many multi-function buttons. I'm going to have to keep the instruction sheet just to remember how to set it up.

I think the product is pretty good for the price that you pay for. Even, the $3.00 shipping charges are very reasonable. But, a product such as as screen protector is a consumable and a new one is expected to last for about a month or so. If you think what the heck it only costs a cent for a pack of three so why not order few packs in the same order then you're in for a big surprise. For example, if you place an order of 5 units of the screen protector the shipping charges run close to $15.00. Then, the product price is not really as low as it seems!
Customer Review: Doesn't fit right
The screen protector is good quality and goes on fairly easily (the 2 tab system is great), but it does NOT fit the iPhone 3GS. If you line up the circle the earpiece is off and vice versa. Plus no matter how you line it up it isn't big enough to cover the whole screen. There's a gap around the edge of the whole thing. Poorly designed in my opinion, but I guess that's what you expect for $0.02

Very compact. I like the way the different converter prongs slide into the adapter. Very convenient. I would recommend this product rather than trying to plug your Nuvi into a converter. I was excited to receive this present for Christmas 2008, it is now May 2009, less than 5 months later and neither of the two finders work. The red finder stopped working the first month, I went to Brookstone to exchange it and they said I needed a receipt, even though it's obviously from Brookstone, with their name on the front of the product. (I didn't have a receipt because it was a present from my brother who lives across the country) My husband exchanged the batteries and the green worked for a month, but then it just fell apart, literally. Please buy a different brand, this one is worthless.

Customer Review: If you think it's a tough watch, think again
I wear my X6HR in a regular environment (office, home), nothing near extreme condition. However, in less than a year, I foung the rubber band of the heart monitor is broken in many placed and the rubber became brittle with many hairline cracks. This is clearly a quality issue with the material used for the watch. In a trip to the Keys, FL, I found that the little rubber ring that holds the band of the watch in place broke in two piece much like what happed to the heart rate monitor band. The band itself also has many small cracks. I am sure the band will break in half sooner or later. The LCD on the watch also became fuzzy when I wear it around beaches. This is supposed to be a watch that you can bring to an expedition, yet it failed miserably in a everyday environment. If you are looking for a tough watch, look elsewhere. My Casio G-shock never gives me any headache that this watch gives.
